The mission of the Pursley laboratory is to gain a greater understanding of fertility of dairy cows and develop new reproductive management strategies to improve profit of dairy farms. We have recently developed novel strategies to utilize assays for pregnancy associated glycoproteins to determine early pregnancy (~d 20 post AI) and determine timing of physiological conceptus attachment. This novel strategy indicates that timing of conceptus attachment is a critical indicator of future pregnancy loss.
